River Processes

The basic processes in the water cycle feed the whole system, transporting water between land and sea and air in a continuous cycle. Processes operate within the river itself such as erosion, abrasion, solution, attrition etc. which affect the shape of the river valley and the extent of its flood plains.

This section will outline the various processes involved in the river system, and outlines the various factors which have an influence on the river.
